Pros
Small company, lots of opportunity to make a difference; works in an interesting space (healthcare); lots of opportunity to talk to actual customers and find out what they really needed.
Cons
There was no concern for the customer (I remember the day we had to call customers on Friday at noon, and insist that they pay up maintenance by 5:00 or get cut off support - these were hospitals and our product was medical records imaging, which is critical 24x7. There was a similar lack of concern for the employees; direction was erratic; the owner threatened to fire me about every 6 months
