Pros
- Small, flexible company that is very results focused so, if you are able to hack it and bring in results, you can get good bonuses and no one will really bug you.
- Well-informed sets of processes to follow, high level of internal know-how, good client-base and good industry reputation.
- Great place to work right out of school. You will be given lots of responsibility and exposure to a wide range of industries and business professionals .
- If you are self-motivated, you can learn a lot working here.
Cons
- Training is 'learn-as-you-go' and 'trial-by-fire', so you have to be a self-starter and pick things up quickly and independently. Not uncommon for a company of this size, I suppose.
- Biggest issue is the president. She is good at her trade, but the same qualities that allow her to get positive results in tax disputes make her very difficult to work with directly. Her expectations and plans can shift quickly, sometimes contradicting her past directives, and she will expect everyone to adjust immediately.
- In my experience, people with an easy-going personality did well here and those who didn't clashed with the president's personality and/or management style.
