Private Equity changed the company, not for the better. - Landscape Designer Borst Landscape & Design Employee Review

Pros

Coworkers at the time were great, but have since left. Learned a lot during my time there.

Cons

Long hours. Toxic management, and high expectations without much control leading to burn out. Once private equity purchased the company, profit was the number one priority and the company culture suffered. Management is slow to pay out commission. Base pay was not fairly administered and women and minorities seemed to fall short.

Pros

The team is great, very knowable and nice people. It wasn’t the right fit for me but I was a little particular. Well run company from construction manager stand point. RD is amazing to work with. They do hire within and seem to promote within which is nice.

Cons

Long hours but not bad if you’re local to them

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the work-life balance we strive to maintain within our company. However, we're disheartened to hear about your concerns regarding the interpersonal dynamics. We take employee feedback seriously, and your comments about people acting nice but engaging in behind-the-scenes behaviors are concerning to us. We encourage an open and transparent culture, and it's unfortunate if that hasn't been your experience. Our commitment is to foster an environment where everyone feels heard and respected. Your advice to go directly to the person if there are issues is aligned with our values. We encourage open communication and believe that addressing concerns directly is key to resolving conflicts. We'll continue to emphasize this approach and work towards creating an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable addressing issues head-on. If you have specific instances or concerns you'd like to discuss further, we invite you to reach out to the HR department or your immediate supervisor. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to continuously improving our workplace. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to address your concerns to improve your experience with us. Sincerely, Borst Landscape & Design Management
