Pros
-Flexible hours. -Co-workers are nice. -Payment is usually prompt. -Products are fun and exciting to design. -Small company = lots of contribution.
Cons
-Small company = lots of egos to butt heads with. -When I worked freelance, there were 17 permanent employees, ten of which were managers. -Not willing to pay for market research. -Starting pay was just over half of industry starting pay rate. -Lots of "can't" and very little "can do." -Insist on picking the lamest possible names for their products. -Will have ten hours of meetings with nothing accomplished, then just go with whatever upper management wants regardless of market research. -Have been trying to acquire new offices for two years, but still in the same shared office with another company. -Licenses near-useless technology, then criticize consultants for not being able to think up markets for it. -As for their robots: call them "legs" all you want, Bossa Nova. They're just wheels.
