Pros
Good co-workers Supportive bosses (but also depends on who you work with), generally good environment I did my master part-time for 4 years and I had understanding colleagues and boss to help me along.
Cons
Limited upwards opportunities but there are many lateral moving opportunities, so it depends on what you are looking for, particularly if you are ambitious.
