Pros

Nothing! I guess great for insomniacs... Who needs sleep when you're constantly worried about whether you’ll get paid?

Cons

If you enjoy financial instability, a complete lack of professionalism and the thrill of wondering whether you’ll actually be paid for your work, then BSC Education is the place for you! Let’s start with the elephant in the room, fraud! The company has consistently failed to pay pension contributions for months on end. And it turns out, this isn't just a rare slip-up, it’s been happening for over 6 months. Even our pension provider had to report BSC to the Pensions Regulator because, well, stealing employees’ retirement savings isn’t exactly legal. Where did all this money go? Your guess is as good as mine, but if I had to take a guess, BSC seems to be operating something suspiciously close to a Ponzi scheme. And it’s not just employees getting screwed over. Contractors, small business owners who clean the buildings, wash the windows, and provide other essential services, routinely go unpaid. The rent for our college buildings is constantly being chased because BSC fails to pay on time. And as for the students? Many never receive the refunds they’re owed. Don't believe me? Just take a peek at the Google reviews across any of their colleges. It’s a graveyard of complaints from families desperately trying (and failing) to get their money back. I worked directly with customers and let me tell you, nothing is more soul destroying than having to apologise on behalf of a company that has literally stolen their money. And if you thought that was bad, let’s talk about employee pay. A few months back, they simply… didn’t bother. No warning, no explanation, just a delightful surprise when payday rolled around and our accounts were empty. They eventually paid us a week late, because nothing screams “great employer” like leaving your staff unable to pay their rent. Now, let’s take a moment to appreciate the comedic brilliance that is BSC’s management and HR department, oh sorry, I mean the “People’s Team” (which is painfully ironic, considering they’re probably the biggest source of stress for employees). This bunch couldn’t organise a paperclip, let alone a company. Employee wellbeing? Never heard of it. Support? Not in their vocabulary. The only thing they’re consistent at is being entirely useless. And for those of you who enjoy a bit of light reading, I strongly encourage you to check out BSC Education Limited on Companies House. It’s like an open book of corporate horror. Want to dive deeper? Have a look at the history of Michael Tunney, the CEO. A serial liquidator of companies, and yet, somehow, still in business. It’s truly inspiring how someone can repeatedly drive companies into the ground and keep a straight face while doing it. If you’re wondering why they always seem to be hiring, here’s your answer: people leave as soon as they can. The work environment is toxic, morale is non-existent and the company’s financial troubles make it an absolute minefield to navigate. Final Thoughts? Just Don’t. I know sometimes we take jobs out of necessity, but I beg you, keep looking. This company will drain your mental health, ruin your financial stability and make you question every career decision you’ve ever made. Working for BSC Education isn’t about building a career; it’s about learning what red flags look like.
