Pros

The company gave me a chance as a fresh graduate. You could be a big fish in a small pond, but opportunities are scarce and training was non-existent.

Cons

Overall a negative experience working at Bronner. I was laid off after 7 months due to office politics. Shortly after our Asian American director accepted an offer from another firm, the CEO decided that it was time for 'business restructuring' and coincidentally laid off the only other two Asians (one CPA senior, one staff) in the company. There was no feedback system, warning, or attempt to retain talent. To give a taste of the CEO's leadership, we were instructed to bill clients for at least 30m if we thought about our projects at any time of the day. Plan to create a pivot table while brushing your teeth? Bill the client. I would highly encourage interns to look elsewhere since this type of work is not marketable -- especially with the size and prestige of the company. There is a reason why turnover is extremely high, which should be a red flag in any small business. Only reason why work comes across Bronner is because big companies like Crowe are federally required to team up with a woman-owned small business when winning RFPs.

Pros

At Bronner you feel welcomed by the whole team and have access to mentoring and insights from some very experienced people in public service and local government.

Cons

Compensation is not competitive for candidates who intend to support themselves with their pay.
