Pros

They appear to be remote-first.

Cons

Interview process was excessive and misleading. Partners communicated different requirements for the role. They repeatedly did not follow through on promised actions. They were confused about what they needed. I found out at stage 4 of the interviews that the role was freelance with no benefits and they were offering a below-market rate. After weeks of back and forth, I was cut because my own below-market rates were too high. 4 interviews at senior level for a freelance role is ridiculous. Avoid these time-wasters.

Pros

- Initially they make you feel very welcome. - Most colleagues are genuinely kind and supportive. - Remote work environment. - Exposure to international clients.

Cons

- Pay rises and bonuses are minimal and seem tied to the company's shaky financial situation, not to what you actually deliver. The company has struggled to make a profit for the last few years. - Upper management style relies heavily on criticism and pressure, which contributes to a toxic environment, low morale, and unnecessary stress. At times, I saw managers speak to people in ways that would not be acceptable in most workplaces. - Little consideration for team members' personal time. Even if nobody says it directly, you are expected to work in the weekends or outside working hours to catch up. - Workload is consistently unrealistic, with tight deadlines and minimal support. Burnout is common, yet concerns raised by employees were rarely addressed in a meaningful way. - There are no clear career development opportunities, and progression feels limited. No honest appraisal process and no clear steps to move forward.

Pros

- For the start of your career to gain experience and build a portfolio. - If you’re lucky enough to have one of the few good managers, you can learn a lot and enjoy the job. - Work from home.

Cons

- In the last few years long-tenured employees have been let go unexpectedly, with no prior warning, no clear explanation, and no history of poor performance. I have never seen this before in my career. In some cases, these decisions appeared to be driven by abusive managers, with leadership failing to step in or properly review the situation. - The responsibilities are "fluid" meaning you'll often be asked to do new tasks without warning and execute them perfectly. - Work-life balance is poor. I was expected to work in the evenings many times. I had to cancel personal plans more than once to accommodate poor planning. - Company doesn't live out their values. They read well, but don’t seem to guide how the company actually operates.
