2yUnfortunately, I had to let 7 people go in August and September for a myriad of reasons, primarily due to a large contract loss. It was a very difficult decision and an extremely hard thing to do as I am acutely aware of the impact it had on the affected employees. This outcome is one which I have never been faced with in 37 years of running a successful business. I have always been a people first employer and the benefits we have offered reflect that with 28 paid days off per year, 401K matching, health insurance which we pay 87% of the employees’ premium, and opportunities for growth (In the last 5 years I have spent over $100K on additional training to help foster career growth). As the founder, owner, and CEO, I have stepped back and allowed my management team to run the day to day, so the micro-managing aspect of this review is baffling. My gut tells me that this is part of an organized effort by one or two past employees, and I feel saddened by their need to hurt the company and me. My advice would be to focus your energy on more positive things.
