Pros

Familiarity working with Legacy Systems. Consistent Routine. Annually Bonus is paid.

Cons

High Manual Workload-Many tasks remain manual, which not only slows down processes but also increases the likelihood of errors. Inability to Change-The reliance on old banking technology limits the organization's capacity to adopt new methodologies and innovations, which can be frustrating for tech professionals.

Pros

nothing good here to say

Cons

The HR department requires significant improvement in coordination and communication, particularly with the Technology team. There have been repeated instances of unfulfilled commitments regarding salary adjustments and employee benefits. Additionally, there is no hybrid work option, and staff are expected to be present in the office by 8:30 a.m. The leadership within the IT division also faces challenges. There appears to be limited autonomy and ineffective collaboration among key personnel. Some technical leads seem to lack a deep understanding of certain core concepts, which impacts overall project quality and mentorship. Of particular concern is the internal communication culture within the IT department. Certain individuals appear to share confidential information inappropriately, which affects trust and transparency across the teams. Prospective employees should be aware of these dynamics before joining CBC or CBC Tech. While the organization claims to operate under Agile methodologies, the actual implementation leans heavily toward a waterfall model. Teams often experience overlapping sprints and excessive ticket assignments, creating confusion and inefficiency in the development process. Escalations to senior leadership, including the CTO, often go unresolved. Given these issues, there is a perception of internal politics and a lack of strategic direction. Overall, professionals seeking a supportive and growth-oriented IT environment may wish to carefully evaluate CBC and CBC Tech before making a decision to join.

Pros

This company pays well for interns(LKR 50000 per month). They offer leave for academic-related things like exams. And also most of co-workers are very supportive and friendly. I gained lot of experiences from this place. Really good place to gain experience as an intern.

Cons

They don't offer hybrid model work schedules for anyone. You have to attend work physically. To be promoted to associate level, you need a degree; without degree, it is impossible in this company. Even you are an undergraduate you cant be promoted to associate level. Often employees have less trust about higher management and HR. I could see some experienced and very skilled people are waiting for their promotions for long time. They deserve more. Because of this lot of people are leaving the company.
