Poor business management. Extremely insular culture with little interest in the outside world. Continuing ed or exposure to industry trends very limited. Often given only as a misplaced reward. Mediocrity welcome and incompetence rampant. "We've always done it this way" stops virtually all innovation. Staffing only to get by, not to excel. Overloading the few who are competent. Compensation not reflective of true contribution. Workplace environment often very hostile with no recourse or consequences for actionable behavior.
