Pros
Usually a well-bonded team of demonstrators when they have a good manager, fun interaction with members great flexibility for days you wish to work, great for retirees.
Cons
Pay can be poor in some areas my area pays just 73 cents over minimum wage, and it matters not if you've been there two weeks or 25 years everybody's paid the same. Perspective bonuses are marginal there used to be a $50 payout for reaching a certain number of goals but that only occurred about every 3 months, the newest payout only 10% of the demonstrators qualified for, it was simply too difficult to meet goals. Management expectations are extremely high, and continue to get higher all the time as more responsibility is added- there's literally not enough time to get everything done anymore. My lunches are unpaid, but I have not taken one in 2 years - yet I deduct it every day- the lunches I do eat at work are done at the desk while I'm trying to get other things done but at least 50% of the time I eat my lunch in my car on my way home. I'm not alone and it's even worse in some locations where management is coming in off the clock an hour or more before their shift trying to get everything done, I wish management would spend a single day with their low-level employees - perhaps there'd be more empathy. Bad managers are kept indefinitely, it seems like there's no repercussions, when your employees are transferring away to get away from manager, there's a problem. There is essentially no compensation or benefits of any kind I've never seen anyone take the medical yet, my only look at potential medical turned out to be about half of my wages. Expect to receive State medical, and I understand most people in Pierce county have to do some shopping at the food bank.
