Free food on break (if you work long enough to get a break), customers

I was lied to about being trained for Shift Leader and when I'd get the black t-shirt. No support or regular meetings as stated. No sense of being part of a team. Horrendous wastage procedure. Ignorant store manager who was constantly on their mobile. Not trusted to make drinks or work the till on a weekend - I have over 7 years experience in customer service/food service and busier places than Nero! Store manager would disappear in the afternoon to see 'friends' or their friends would come into store on a regular basis - this time could be used to be supporting the staff! Crazy pressure whilst serving. No real opportunities unless you have an understanding store manager. No one to discuss issues with as the area manager and store manager were too cliquey.

Pros

Customers can be the best part of the day if you build connections with them.

Cons

The management was lacking, no enforcement of rules and unrealistic expectations of staff. Upper management only cares about sales numbers not staff experience. Prepare to work every shift understaffed while management takes off the weekend.
