Pros

Non that I can think of... No... Wait... Insane money offered for roles within the company but this is only to trap you so that you are too expensive for employment with genuine companies.

Cons

Having seen first-hand what Calligo has done to two very successful companies they bought last year here in Ireland (one of which I was proud to be a part of for many years), I can confirm that every single negative staff review on here is the truth as written! I can even relate to the non-constructive one liner reviews! Their treatment of staff is appalling! I’ve worked in IT for 25 years in both the UK and Ireland and I've never seen anything like the chaotic, destructive, disturbing, mentally torturous, poisonous, toxic and very dark environment that Calligo employ. It's a blame, name and shame culture that oozes its way in to the best of colleagues who are then forced to take care of their own instead of working together as a team. What was once a place where staff stepped in to help one another and also felt safe to voice an opinion (be it positive or negative), is now a place where they are threatened with disciplinary actions for doing so and push out from both the inner and outer circles. Members of staff within company acquisitions are pressurised in to signing employment contracts containing terms within that are morally wrong and even in some cases illegally incorrect in some countries that Calligo have bought their way in to. It’s the same contract that we were all pressured in to signing and in some cases even told that if we didn't sign we would be replaced. The whole onboarding process is very stressful even though they state on takeover meetings that they have done these many times before and all will be well. Within weeks, they let go some members of staff with serious in-house knowledge leaving us immediately on the back foot as we couldn’t meet our customer’s needs due to being short on staff. We had around 30 people employed in our company and its down to just a few with more people potentially going to walk out in the near future. The other company that they bought here last year were 18 strong and all but one has walked away. Two companies destroyed by Calligo who came in literally promising the world, but delivered nothing but dismay and betrayal. The executive team at Calligo are calling Ireland the 20-million-pound mistake followed by inaccurate statements like everyone in Ireland are needy! The truth is that they blame everyone but themselves. This company is clearly doing something that is neither ethical nor morally right in my opinion. They buy successful companies, turn them upside-down from the very get go causing total disruption that then impacts customer relations in the worst way possible. When buying a company, it's usually best practice to sit on it for a while, monitor and learn what made it a good solid purchase in the first place. Not Calligo... Instead of buying in to IT Companies, Calligo should buy shares in JCB! Calligo are by far the worst company I have ever worked for. The CEO needs to cop on and forget about his self-developed Vybbe Application that's forced upon the staff. As stated in a company meeting, if employees don't use Vybbe, it will go against their KPIs! Like Seriously!? Calligo have customers crying out for the services promised that are not being delivered but there is more pressure applied making threats on the already deflated members of staff to use an application that asks staff how they how you are feeling! Most of the executive team are just as bad to be honest as they have no ability to stand up and make a difference. Some are all on bonus schemes that drive them to push staff members in to working extreme hours in order to reach impossible targets. Projects that in a normal world would have three engineers assigned, but yet they load on to one and that single engineer is the only person who knows all concerned to that particular project! Question time! Should something happen to that engineer, where does that leave the project and company its being progressed for? Answers on a postcard and addressed to Calligo, Block 3, The Forum, Grenville Street, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 4UF. That leads me to my final point... Calligo just don't care! I’m now of the opinion that they are a numbers crowd and all they do care about is the money coming in so that they can reinvest to multiply. Again it’s my opinion that this is NOT an IT Service Provider, it's NOT an MSP and it’s NOT a CSP. It's an investment company / money generator that's spun to make more money and its only ever the people at the top that will benefit from working at this company until they have reached a point where they’ve taken what they need from it, float it on the market and sell it on with the insane amount of mess that they have created. If you're unfortunate to be part of a Calligo acquisition, I feel for you. You're in for a ride that will only end up the same way as the rest. Over two years on, the Canadian acquisitions are still in real mess and we can't ever see Ireland recovering any time soon after nearly a year. I've been told it took nearly four years to settle some of the UK acquisitions and even then, they have a high staff turnover. If you are considering a role in this company then decide for yourself if this is really a company you want to work for. Many of us here in Ireland decided it's not with others that will no doubt follow.
