Pros
It's flexible and payment is on time as scheduled every week. You have full control over your schedule and who you teach. Completely remote.
Cons
Low pay for the current job market. No compensation when a student cancels, even if it is within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson. However, tutors are penalized if they have to cancel within that same amount of time (potential that scheduling privileges will be limited temporarily.) Only 10 minutes worth of pay if student no-shows (regardless of length of class; minimum 15 minutes class time). If teaching children, depending on the parents, you may be left completely alone with the child; no parent/guardian supervision. Parental guidance would be appreciated when communication becomes difficult.
