Pros
Pros - Great office & location - Most staff are wonderful - Benefits are better than industry average
Cons
Cons - Underpaid & overworked - Lack of opportunities for career progression - Senior Management Team are generally problematic and lack professionalism - Rife with interdepartmental politics, nowhere worse than Accounts & Finance. Often leading to employees leaving as a result of being caught up in SMT politics. - Intentional mixed messaging regarding Employee Reviews, Bonuses, Pay Reviews. Employee Reviews are done on a 1 to 5 rating, though staff are always told by SMT that noone is able to receive a rating of 5 thereby affecting there potential bonus & pay rise. Yet from conversations it seems staff who benefit from favouritism are the only employees who are awarded a 5, making the entire process unfair and pointless. - Early Careers team cite a volunteer/work experience policy that is meant to benefit disadvantaged young people from the local community i.e. London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Yet on many occasions these opportunities are stolen by family members of Senior Managers who are neither from the local community nor from disadvantaged backgrounds. Advice for management - 15+ employees from BAME backgrounds left the company in the past 1.5 years, from the Accounts & Finance department. All of whom seem to be happier for it... draw your own conclusions. - While gender pay gap has been closing over the years during my employment, the pay gap between ethnic minority employees and White British employees has been growing year on year (according to CWG's own stats).
