It was really inspiring to work at a company built from the ground up. We hosted the Red Cross for over a month after the Santa Rosa fires. One of the founders created a park for displaced people that had a bunch of RVs for people to live in. Worked on my schedule for the most part which equated to some 16 hour days, but also led to some mellow days working from the campus. Consistently brought in at least a million in sales each month. Left during Covid times to move back to Santa Cruz and help my Father who had lung cancer. Would probably still be there as I had nothing but great experiences and treatment there, but had more important things to be doing with my time.
Cons
A lot of inter-organizational issues. People in positions of power that lacked understanding of the industry. Company grew very quickly and keeping that going is harder than a company that’s just maintaining.
