Pros
- Phenomenal team of people - from front-line employees through management through senior leadership, everyone is in it for the company and in it for each other. - They’re investing in the company for its future - from leadership to technology to process, they’re taking big steps to drive the company forward - Good benefits (from the big stuff like medical through small things like snacks and a gym membership) - Casual work environment - The up sides of working for a small company - you know everyone, great culture, there aren’t a ton of people so every single person makes a difference, you learn a ton if you take initiative because sometimes there’s no one to do something except you, so you figure it out and learn a lot as you go I am so grateful for my time at Cappex. Having left a previous job at a stressful company/bad environment, Cappex was literally a breath of fresh air. It wasn’t perfect (no job is), but I was happy every single day there. The team is the biggest difference-maker - loved everyone I worked with. Management and HR really try to make the culture great, in big and small ways. They know there are areas they need to make better to drive the business forward, and they’re making plans to do so.
Cons
- The down sides of working for a small company - limited resources (budget, time), limited career runway depending on department (ex: there is a defined career progression in sales, but there isn’t into management because it’s a pretty flat org structure today). The limited runway is the only reason I left - there wasn’t a defined timeline for a next step. Otherwise, I would have stayed for way longer. Hopefully this changes as the company grows and headcount is added - it already grew in the two years I was there.
