Pros

They paid me for the hours I worked

Cons

In my time at Care Access, I encountered numerous issues ranging from haphazard management to serious ethical breaches. Despite my background in lean processes and attempts to contribute positively, the responses were dismissive and sometimes belittling. The absence of standardized procedures resulted in a chaotic work environment, heavily influenced by the whims of directors lacking clear direction. Leadership was disorganized, with many managers and leads frequently unavailable. Attempts by fellow recruiters to address issues were often dismissed, and suggestions for improvement were met with responses that felt dismissive. Compounding the issue of mismanagement was a disturbing tolerance for unprofessional behavior. Incidents of harassment went unaddressed, and there was an occasion where an employee made calls in a state that suggested intoxication. The claims were downplayed and forgotten. This not only created an uncomfortable work environment but also raised questions about the company's commitment to professionalism and employee well-being. The ethical lapses extended beyond internal management issues. A significant problem arose with a major sponsor, referred to here as "P...er." Although this sponsor misled the public with a press release that was not sincere, the response from Care Access—including assurances about job security—was misleading. The situation culminated in mass layoffs, with employees being promised severance packages that were contingent upon signing a complex legal document. The abrupt layoffs, executed without proper warning, were a significant blow. Employees were coerced into signing legal documents that, unknown to many, waived their rights to fair compensation beyond what the severance offered. This deceptive practice, aimed at pressuring employees into accepting less than they deserved, was a clear demonstration of the company's disregard for ethical standards and employee rights. The experience I had with Care Access was deeply troubling, from the chaotic management to the disregard for ethical standards and employee rights. Despite hearing of new hiring initiatives, my advice to potential employees is to approach with extreme caution. The cost to personal integrity and professional satisfaction may be too high a price to pay.

Pros

Company shutdown/free PTO week between Christmas and New Year’s is a nice perk. Remote flexibility and competitive pay for the scope of the role. The day-to-day work is generally manageable.

Cons

Culture is draining and often feels non-collaborative. There is frequent micromanagement, inconsistent leadership, and a pattern of deflecting concerns rather than addressing them directly. Decision-making can lack transparency, and internal mobility and growth opportunities are limited. Advancement does not always feel aligned with performance or qualifications. Workloads increase without clear structure or support, and priorities frequently shift without effective communication.
