Poor management cutting costs or jobs. If you work here, bring your own supplies - you will need them. - Program Manager CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Employee Review

Pros

I liked the people I worked with while I was at the company.

Cons

I had good managers that changed to bad managers when they got new bosses. Some of the worst managers I ever worked with came from CareFirst. What made them the worst was they were abusive, rude and unknowledgeable about the work that was being done, and how to do it, and refused to listen. I had to provide most of my own supplies, computers, pens, and paper to get my job done.

Pros

I have a supportive team, my leadership encourages work-life balance, the company culture is very pleasing to me, plenty of leadership presence and transparency about company happenings, and the employee benefits are phenomenal.

Cons

I genuinely don't have anything negative to say at this moment.

Pros

Ability to work from home.

Cons

Extremely low salary for 2026. Far too much work to stay afloat. Everyone is on PTO constantly which makes training/help almost impossible. Tenured employees are unavailable majority of the time and leave unfinished work on your plate to deal with.
