Pros
Located on the shore of Lake Michigan, the campus environment is beautiful, although many of the buildings are old and outdated. Faculty and staff get free parking, access to the fitness center, and often have access to free tickets for arts events. Many professors and staff are genuinely nice and care deeply about the students.
Cons
The culture ossified under the previous administration (the president was there 25 years), and the current president has not yet managed to effectively clean house. There is no HR department and no accountability at this private school; sexist and racist behavior is common in administration and in college policies. Salaries are quite low for most employees and there's very little room for advancement, causing the college to lose many fine professors and staff members.
