Cons
Top management micromanages employees on a daily basis, greatly limiting productivity and motivation. Top management lacks the both the ability to make a plan, and the ability to execute on a plan which makes the day to day operations inefficient due to daily priority changes. The company fails to execute plans in a timely manner and doesn’t take responsibility for their poor planning. This ultimately affects their employees in a negative way. I.E. Cassida moved from Portland to San Diego several months after the date that was promised to all employees, which caused unneeded stress and difficulties for employees. “Managers” are not granted any authority to make decisions, which negatively effects the overall success that can be achieved in one’s role as it seems an approval is always being waited on. Cassida exists in an ever-shrinking niche industry, in a niche category, with a niche product, yet does not have a cohesive strategy to adapt to shifting market needs. Cassida doesn’t respect existing trading partners while attempting to develop new products. I.E. Cassida partners with resellers to develop and test new products, but then denies these partners the right to sell the finished product post-release. Hourly employees are grossly disrespected by upper management in both their job function and time. Upper management fosters a hostile environment and has created employee vs employee situations by assigning people to time track co-workers without their knowledge. The president of the company is routinely caught hiding in weird places around the office in an attempt to overhear conversations between employees without respect to private conversations. Cassida continues to make unfulfilled promises in relation to moving, where the new office would be located, overall status of the new building, and even employee compensation. Cassida experiences high turnover with 5 of 11 managers quitting in the last 3 months.
