Pros
The commute is pleasant since the office is located near O'Hare Airport, meaning you have access to the office by bus, train, and major highways / streets.
Cons
- Management is beyond atrocious. COO runs Castinghub with an iron fist. It's her way or the highway. What kind of adult makes another adult bring a doctor's note to work for a legitimate doctors appointment? Finally, the rest of upper management is absolutely clueless as to how to run a company, let alone do the job that their title suggests they do. Any little thing out of the ordinary sends them running for the hills and they spend more days out of the office than in it. - Pay is awful. Hourly wages range from $9 to $10 per hour, full-time, and no benefits. The only incentive they offer is a covered parking garage, yay! Upper management is paid very well for very little demonstrated effort and anyone else salaried is underpaid (compared to upper management). - Terrible work culture. Everything is cubicled off from everything else, socializing and fraternizing is down-played heavily, and employees are sad, angry, stepped-on individuals. Job duties are menial, terribly boring, and repetitious to the point of physical injury. Furthermore, the COO treats her employees like children, talks down to them constantly, enacts rules that a mother would dish out to her unruly child, and smiles at you while calling you a member of her "Dynamic Team". You are allowed days off, on paper, but if you ask for them, you are talked down to and usually denied the request. One employee was given grief about talking a day off work to attend a family members funeral. Finally, the turnover rate for this company is EXTREMELY HIGH. Upon joining the company, one woman was fired. Two weeks later, another woman quit. I also learned that before my arrival there, 5 employees had been fired/quit, and more continued to leave/get fired during my tenure. AVOID THIS COMPANY! - Zero chance for upward mobility. You are hired to do the job that you applied for, keep your mouth shut, collect your meager scraps, and go home. You will not be offered a chance to rise in the ranks, and if you are offered anything, the raise in pay is not worth the extra responsibility and no extra incentives are offered to you. If you challenge your role, your responsibilities, or the company at large, you will be met with a series of one-on-one verbal beatings. If you remain "out-of-line" in the eyes of the COO, expect to be fired. - IT IS A SCAM. Castinghub collects free, public information, compiles it into a database of their own, and charges outrageous sums of money to access it. There are many articles on the internet that describe what Castinghub is doing to it's clients, and all of them say to avoid the company. Finally, Better Business Bureau has given them a "D" rating and recently flagged Castinghub for questionable business practices. I REPEAT, AVOID THIS COMPANY!
