Pros

You are given a great deal of responsibility and opportunities to learn.

Cons

CCI has a very toxic culture that is extremely demotivating for top performers. There are countless empty promises made by management about promotion, salary increases, bonus, and internal job mobility. I was at the firm for many years, and layoffs are a regular occurrence. As teams shrink, the work just gets redistributed amongst the remaining team members which destroys any semblance of work life balance. Even though teams are operating as skeleton crews, management expects the same high level of service, accuracy, and turnaround times. The delta between a “top performer’s” salary and a “button pusher’s” salary is negligible. As a result, there is really no incentive to excelling at work beyond your own personal growth goals. Upper management pays a lot of lip service to keeping top talent, but their actions do not align with their words. The firm is bleeding top performers as a result. Also, salaries are very low in general. A recent college graduate working at a big bank makes more money than a 10+ year commodities veteran does working at CCI. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are plenty of other firms out there that actually value top talent. Don’t settle for a thankless job at CCI. If you’re still at the firm, look for another job. Your wallet and stress level will thank you. Leaving CCI will get you a 40% - 50% bump in base, plus a much better bonus %. Ask the recruiters... CCI has a bad reputation.
