Pros
I have been employed by, or contracted to, eight consulting companies in 24 years and working with Catalyft the last ~2 years has been completely different from any other. The professional experience levels and collaborative nature of senior leadership and team members is unmatched. Catalyft's approach and project structure uses general consulants (performance and leadership) such as myself and specialists such as HR, Computer Based Training, Automated Reporting System Developers and more. So on any given project everyone has a chance to succeed in their own space while being part of a team that delivers more than promised to, or expected by, the clients. It is not a place for a weak consultant that requires repetitive structure with step by step guidance. However, for the consultant that wants to collaborate with others while experimenting individually to create better ways to deliver results with and for the client it is the place to be. Since all consultants invited to join Catalyft have years of demonstrated experience the experience base is wide and deep. There is always somebody to use as a sounding board and collaborate with that has consulted in either the same industry as your current project, in the same business function and/or the same problem & solution workstream. One has to remember that Catalyft consultants are highly experienced so it will do them well to leave their ego in a box outside the door and learn to leverage the experience around them. The bottom line is that Catalyft is a great place to be a true practitioner in the consulting field and enjoy the intrinsic benefit of ending a project with an amazed and appreciative client and knowing it was a job well done.
Cons
The usual cons of the consulting lifestyle such as travel, mid priced hotels, car rate and occupancy guidelines and pressure to deliver results in spite of an occasional uncooperative member of the client's team are present at Catalyft as at any consultancy. However, the seasoned consultant can easily work through the issues beyond the norm. Additionally, Catalyft's internal policies are more "consultant friendly" than most other consulting firms and reasonable explanations for variation from policy are accepted much more easily than other places.
