Several of the senior executives are borderline sociopaths. The offices are dingy and dated and the toilets don't often work. The staff are all required by necessity and lack of existing qualified personnel, to take on duties for which they have neither the skills, training or expertise to execute. The end result is that the entire organization is dragged down several levels as those at higher levels must assume the roles of subordinates.
This is the only company I've ever worked for where additional effort above and beyond is penalized, not rewarded...or at least acknowledged.
Executive level decisions are capricious, horribly uninformed and reactionary... Usually to the overall detriment to the project.
Instead of bringing a sense of calm, stability, reassurance and support, the executives unnessicarily increase stress on the staff to the point where morale is non-existant. This results in geometrically reduced productivity, resentment by the staff and a poor attitude by all.
This company uses D-list "lowest bidder" subcontractors who actually CONTROL the CM, delay the project and completely undermine the firm's credibility with the client and the other subcontractors.
Preposterous.
