Deeply Unpleasant Work Environment - Administrative Assistant Celestra Employee Review

Pros

Very few. It was local, if that counts as a 'pro'.

Cons

As a temporary member of staff, I was left with little to no training at all then told to get on with it by a rather unpleasant manager. If you were 2 minutes late in the morning then you would be called very publicly into a meeting and told you had to deduct exactly 2 minutes from your lunch break. It's the kind of nasty, institutional approach that leaves a very sour taste in the mouth.

Pros

Very collaborative, no politics culture. Great people, competent, professional down to earth. Interesting work.

Cons

Compensation - pay and benefits - could be better.

Pros

Celestra is a fast-paced and genuinely supportive place to work. The teams collaborate well, and there’s a real focus on quality, process improvement, and doing things properly. I’ve had opportunities to grow, take ownership, and get involved in some exciting national projects. Leadership is approachable, and there’s a culture of helping each other rather than competing. It’s busy and sometimes demanding, but if you’re driven and want to develop, it’s a great environment.

Cons

The pace can be very fast, and priorities shift quickly, which may feel overwhelming if you’re not used to a dynamic environment. Communication between departments is improving but can still be inconsistent at times. Workloads can peak during busy programme periods, so good organisation is essential. Some processes are still being refined as the business grows, which can create occasional bottlenecks.
