Pros
I work at one of the health clubs and used to love it. I loved my co-workers and the job perks of a free membership and reduced membership rates for family members was awesome. That changed a few years ago.
Cons
A new VP was brought in and is only concerned with making money. The free memberships have gone away and employees have to work a certain number of hours each week to have a "free membership." They continually stress customer service but they treat their "non-essential/ part-time" employees like crap. My manager was fired and they brought in a new manager that knows NOTHING about our area and has absolutely no experience working in it themselves. It all comes down to money. For example, they cut lifeguard hours at the outdoor pool while keeping the same open hours. Yes, they have times where there are no lifeguards on duty because paying them costs too much.
