10/10 - Anonymous employee CenterCal Properties Employee Review

CenterCal is a small company with an incredible amount of talent. I'm impressed every day by what this team is able to accomplish. It is a collaborative work environment and everyone is encouraged to bring their ideas to the table. Roles & responsibilities are more fluid; customizable to each persons strengths. Great environment for independent go-getters; not so great for those that require more structure & defined SOPs. Accounting is the exception and much more defined. A few years ago the company did go through some growing pains & restructuring. I'm very impressed with changes: departments were elevated, programs improved, processes more streamlined, etc. Unfortunately that did result in some staff turnover. The company does treat staff very well. Benefits & compensation are generous. Vacation time is encouraged. Employees are regularly acknowledged & celebrated for their successes. Training & resources are provided when requested. The company comes together like a family to support Employees going through personal difficulties. Departments & local office Teams are close knit. Everyone works together to support each other. I love working for CenterCal. If it sounds like your environment, come join our family!

Structure & SOPs are a bit loose (only a CON for those that need that structured lane)

There were many positive aspects to working for the company. A lot of team members were willing to help one another, and I met incredibly talented people. The company did a lot to help the community and bring people together. The properties were well designed with an emphasis on supporting tenants while providing engaging experiences.

There were frequent changes to the organization, including initiatives and restructuring. While team members were quick to adjust, the ongoing changes created misunderstandings and made it hard to ensure success either individually or as a team. Many meetings featured big announcements, and it often felt like plans were started and then halted or changed mid-process.
