Pros
I started out with rose colored glasses and even write one of the positive reviews below, but unfortunately, the marketing manager review turned out to be true. I’ve never been so disappointed in a company. I really wanted to believe in this company but, unfortunately, they turned out to be some of the worst offenders when it came to hypocrisy. I would want any workplace to at least adhere to certain basic values but am not surprised when they do not, or when they’re borderline. But with CHANI it’s worse because they lay out all these above and beyond values that they not only don’t live up to, but actively undermine with their actions.
Cons
For example, they recently wrote an article that highlights how longer vacation breaks benefit both employees and the company. One bullet point even emphasized how much it helps turnover, which costs a company a lot of money. But I have seen the highest turnover here of any medium sized company I’ve worked at in the last nearly 20 years. Not only that but they use underhanded tactics like quiet firing, which are not only against their own stated morals but quite possibly illegal. This happened to me and I witnessed it happen to many others both before and after my own experience. Because I am outspoken and was both respected in my longstanding role and in a place of leadership, however, they lost patience quickly and decided to actually fire me after about 6 months of general adverse treatment. So I should not have been surprised that, even though I worked directly with the founders for 3 years, they had a coworker, hired at the same time as I was, to do their dirty work. I had a lot of respect for her as well, until she fired me without even turning her camera on. This, too, goes against everything they preach about leaning into conflict even when its difficult.
