Pros
I worked at Chelgate full-time for three months (July-October 2019). From the very beginning, I was given a large amount of responsibility and autonomy and felt my opinion was valued and taken on board. Additionally, the work I was involved with was interesting and was able to maintain a great work-life balance. I particularly enjoyed working within a small team as it meant I could interact with staff more often and are was able to get a 360-degree view of the business, which you're unlikely to get in a larger company. My colleagues were all very friendly and made me feel like part of the team and not 'just an intern.' Overall, I enjoyed my internship and would recommend it to other people looking to learn more about a career in public affairs.
Cons
Chelgate is a very small business, and therefore would not recommend working there is you don't like working in small, close knit teams.
