Pros
Very hard working staff consirdering the conditions and resourses
Cons
I started at Chemviron with promises of a reasonable wage, progression and safety.
None of which happened.
The laboratory is outdated, dirty and run poorly.
The lab has no atmosphere, no radio and very loud machinary/terrible fumes and smells.
Health and safety is at a minimum. Little PPE is available, the extraction is none existant, chemicals are stored and disposed of poorly, after every day your mucus, skin, hair and saliva is black and considering many of the chemicals used are carcinogenic, one would believe that proper HSE would be implimented.
The management is powerless and clueless. Many of the managers have little to no idea what is going in and those that do are heavily over worked. Staff are treated poorly by the American/Belgian management who have the say on any decision made on site.
Progression does not exist at this company. Although things are promised, even verbally agreed, this will never come to be. Do not expect a pay rise either, even if you are doing other peoples jobs that have left.
If I could give anyone any advice. For your mental health, safety and wellbeing do not start at this company!
