You can not be better than the Sales Leadership team. If you are, you are on the chopping block. If you ask to many questions that seem like you are challenging them, you are on the chopping block. You must keep your opinions to yourself. If not you become a target for the people that are above you. Some of the VP's only hire or promote their friends. It is not a matter of how hard you work, it is more a matter of how much will you cover for them and make them look good. When a VP has an inner circle that is not very good.
