Pros

you have a say in your schedule, flexible hours if you have children

Cons

no hope for raises, though they will dangle the promotion carrot. "unlimited time off" is not as it seems, and all work has to be made up and missed client meetings caught up. It's almost more stressful to take time off. Guilted into returning from illness such as shingles quickly, putting families at risk.

Pros

ChildStrive puts in an effort to have values and principles that support employee wellbeing, although some programs or benefits miss the mark.

Cons

The Unlimited Paid Time Off benefit is tricky because leadership does not model taking much actual vacation time, but rather models it as a flexible work schedule. Because of low pay, if you have a spouse or second income you can afford to work here, but it is very hard to do so as a single parent. While ChildStrive has certain guiding principles like Restorative Practices they do not always live up to modeling this with their own staff. Depending on which department you are hired into there is not much room for growth and not a lot of interest in developing each employee.
