Pros
The culture here is the best I've experienced thus far in my career. Staff has the opportunity to participate in a variety of committees to contribute to actively shaping the culture and the decision making process. In general, coworkers are friendly, supportive, and respectful. The office itself is beautiful with a stunning view of the Richmond skyline. Leadership is supportive of employees and is invested in the well being and professional development of staff. Within the first couple of months of working here, my supervisor started conversations about what I'd like my career path to look like! I like the feedback structure, I have the opportunity to touch base with my supervisor weekly and feel that communication is very open both ways. They are understanding and flexible when challenges crop up in your personal life. The benefits and pay are great for nonprofit, and are better than my previous job in the for-profit sector. The agency is growing and leadership continues to consciously improve workflow, agency culture, and organizational strategy. This is a mission-driven organization, and it is inspiring to see the ways that all of the different teams go above and beyond to support the mission.
Cons
Collaboration across departments can be challenging. There are opportunities for improving the training process and for process documentation which are actively being worked on by leadership
