Pros

Not having to see manager daily. That is all.

Cons

PAY! They pay you crap. They tell you that once you get off "Probation", which is supposed to be up to 90 days, you have uncapped earning potential and the crap salary you started with will be a thing of the past. WRONG!!! Equipment stinks. Management is bottom line and have no clue how to handle employees. You cannot survive on the pay unless you live at home and never have to buy anything. Reports are redundant. They treat you like trash when you leave and lie to you about what money they owe you. No 401K. I can go on and on. Oh and you are a local investigator who is expected to drive around 160 miles a day.

Pros

Provide some travel reimbursement. Not capped at 40 hours per week. Consistent with paying working lunches, overtime, etc. Can bill freely.

Cons

Inconsistent amount of assignments. At times work is very slow or too busy. Managers are look out for the company's bottom line and try to cut assignments right under you if another investigator will be in area so that they do not have to cut save money. Managers have a 24-hour rule on reports, regardless of due date, little consideration for personal/family life. They are a big BOTTOM LINE company. Little room for error. You need to be on managers good graces or you may see a deduction in case load, as they assign your cases.
