Pros
Weekly Paychecks. Design-Build Firm where you can have interaction with the production of your design (but won’t). Weekends off, but they'd love to have you and will probably ask. Halfway through my time there I didn't have to work out of a construction trailer anymore! Working on the field team is the only place that you want to be. Trust me.
Cons
Long hours that are endless if you are on one of their larger projects. No compensation for extra-long hours (leaving early on a Friday, etc.) and end of year bonus does not come close to making up for the overtime (that they don't track) that you put in over the year. No clear direction is given by management on the tasks they hand out. They consider this a form of training. No training on a completely new and not widely used BIM software, Tekla. No CAD standards. Employees should not have to write out a cost/benefit analysis spreadsheet before they are given a laptop. If you were a legit mid to large sized firm you hand a laptop to your employee on day one.
