Pros

Remote opportunity Competitive pay The company wants to be competitive in the space and is working to do so.

Cons

ClearStar, without any exaggeration, is one of the most unorganized and poorly managed companies I’ve ever worked for. The leadership team borders on abuse at times, and they simply do not care about their perception as an organization. My manager spoke hateful things about my spouse, has wildly contradictory expectations, and had a shocking lack of understanding of what digital marketing even was. I was let go without any explanation or notice, and was only told that it wasn’t performance based. I was also told numerous times by various leaders in the company that I wasn’t doing enough, even though I was writing, designing, and promoting our content; administrating our CRM, building core parts of digital marketing that never existed at ClearStar previously, and working with the sales team to generate leads. I cannot speak low enough about this company. They honestly need to be investigated for gross misuse of employment but that probably wouldn’t happen. They have a tendency to devalue their workers to the point of exhaustion and if you ever come across a job opening here DO NOT apply.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this was your experience at ClearStar. We are predominantly a fully remote, work from home organization and strongly support productive remote work environments. Per our working remote policy, we do have an expectation that our remote employees have a dedicated work area established in their home where they can work without distraction and have access to a reliable internet connection. ClearStar is a rapidly growing and scaling company. The pace is fast and hiring managers clearly explain what to expect during the interview process. Candidates coming from significantly larger organizations, with large functional teams, may have to adapt to an organization that consists of smaller teams where the contributions of each team member are highly visible. Our sales and marketing team has a commendable track record and has delivered significant organic growth well above industry levels each of the past two years. We highly value our employees and are committed to providing growth and advancement opportunities. Over 20% of our team members received promotional roles in 2022. We value employee feedback and have multiple internal forums to address thoughts or concerns through employee surveys and CEO Q & A at our All Hands meetings. If you have specific concerns, please contact a member of our people team.

Pros

I’ve been with the company for several years, and it’s been incredible to see the transformation taking place. While the past couple of years haven’t been without challenges, it’s clear that leadership is focused on building a stronger, smarter organization - one that’s investing in both its people and its technology. What stands out most is the genuine commitment to employee development. Operations team members have real opportunities to grow through Six Sigma certification, PBSA advanced training, and meaningful cross-training initiatives. These aren’t just check-the-box programs — they’re investments that make a tangible difference in how we work and how we deliver for our clients. On the technology front, the improvements and innovations being rolled out are helping us modernize processes, improve quality, and create more confidence in the services we provide. It’s exciting to see the company truly embrace data, automation, and operational excellence. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s clear we’re moving in the right direction. The leadership team is listening, learning, and pushing for long-term success. I’m proud to be part of a company that’s evolving with purpose and I genuinely believe the best is yet to come

Cons

From my perspective, the biggest challenge has been navigating change. Not everyone is fully on board yet, which can create some interesting internal dynamics at times. You can definitely feel the push and pull between how things used to be and where the company is headed. It’s improving, but it’s still a challenge as we continue to evolve.

Pros

There are some truly great employees who are working tirelessly to keep the company functioning as well as it does.

Cons

The company provides very limited guidance or support. Employees in operations are expected to navigate multiple proprietary and external systems independently, as no formal training is offered. The workload is further strained by an excessive number of meetings, leaving little time to complete actual tasks during regular hours and often resulting in significant after‑hours work. Additionally, expressing viewpoints that differ from management’s is discouraged and can lead to negative attention. Executive management lacks meaningful industry experience and is not equipped to properly support their teams, which contributes to ongoing operational challenges. Micromanagement is common, yet it comes without the direction needed to be successful. Altogether, these factors created an overall negative experience that consistently overshadowed any positives and made long‑term success in the role difficult.
