Pros

Clever was my first design job at an agency, which looking back I realize how it was such a critical time for my growth as a designer and creative in general. My individual skills and strengths were taken into account when projects were assigned and I felt a good balance of pressure and patience that helped mold me into a professional individual in the design field. I was extremely eager to learn and they gave me the opportunity to soak it up, improve, develop my skills further, collaborate and voice my vision. We were often encouraged to share what inspired us as creatives outside of specific projects which allowed for more of our individual talents and interests to be communicated.

Cons

After working with other agencies and as a freelancer for many years, I have a better understanding of what really goes behind the curtains and have much gratitude for the times at Clever when I could just focus on the design, knowing that a team was there to support the creatives and making sure the client is taken care of. It's not an easy job and it takes much grace and strength to handle it all keeping creative team and clients happy.

Pros

During my time, offices were nice and clean, small crew but most of us got along pretty well. Holiday parties were nice and it was almost like a second family. Management took interest in some of my skills and workflow contributions in the beginning.

Cons

In my opinion, career growth was not available during my years. After a while I felt like I was pigeon-holed to doing more technical tasks that was not my expertise and was never given the chance to contribute anything else "creative". At the time, it also felt like one of the workers had special treatment than others and I remember working until 2am - 4am to finish projects in the office and would sometimes still get a hard time requesting a comp day.
