Clever Response
5yI'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Clever.
This review has both (1) some factual inaccuracies and (2) some areas we’ve genuinely struggled with as a business, and are seriously working to address.
First, a few factual inaccuracies:
Clever's team is currently 35% women, with a goal of reaching 50%.
We do not tolerate sexist or racist comments. We’ve stood behind our policies on offensive language even when it meant terminating a top performer, and we intend to keep doing so.
Benefits (health / dental / vision) have not changed in the life of the company.
Our PTO Policy has changed once: we moved to an accrual system because we saw Unlimited PTO disincentivized the team from taking time off.
There are multiple female managers and team leads at Clever.
Clever has many team members that have families and young children. We offer a flexible work from home schedule, and it’s common to see kids on company zoom calls.
Second, areas we’re working to address:
Our team is not as diverse as we want. We are working hard to change the language in our recruiting messages and our candidate experience, to make us a more-welcoming team for women and minorities to interview with. This extends to changes inside the team, as well.
We do indeed have several first-time managers, including our company co founders! We welcome critical feedback and know we will have to keep improving to make the team successful.
