Pros

- Incredible access to a wealth of public health information - Ability to positively affect and influence the lives of people populations in need - Access to internet webcasts that are often informative and educational - If you know how to use it, access to other organizations with better salaries and benefits - Looks good on resume

Cons

- No chances of growth or advancement within organization. - Senior management takes advantage of staff affection for the research populations by stretching workloads and reducing vacations, knowing that they feel emotionally connected to work - Utter lack of respect for both middle management and staff - Total disconnection between senior management and rest of staff (both geographically and mentally) - Senior management often takes on new projects and loads new work onto already strained staff - Project budget allocation seems to be very "top heavy" - Many "staff" are kept on 1099 consultant status indefinitely to save money (ie: no benefits), yet are still held to staff requirements (vacation time) - CEO is a ghost to most of the staff, except during cryptic staff meetings where he denigrates and insults them. - CEO lacks interpersonal skills and leaves ANY positive reinforcement to middle management, who are overworked themselves.
