Pros

-Opportunity to work alongside some of the most intelligent people in the world working on international development and human rights issues
-Great professional development seminars built into internship such as MS Excel workshops, Cover Letter, Resume and Interview skills development and career day.
-Also fun to meet the President and the Secretary and hear some of their amazing stories and perspectives.
-HIgh diversity of colleagues

Cons

-Accessibility of unpaid internship in NYC is extremely limited so you end up getting people from mostly very wealthy background
-Sometimes it feels like interns are regarded as "second class citizens" and are not always recognized for the the work they contribute
-Intern reviews are very generic not very constructive. Supervisors generally say that everyone is great which is frustrating for the people that go above and beyond expectations.

Advice to Management

-Find a way to better to reward interns and show appreciation
-Create scholarship fund so that students from low-income background can have the opportunity to do an unpaid internship as well

I worked at Clinton Foundation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

As an intern I learned a lot about how a major nonprofit operates and what kind of work is conducted in the home office. All the employees have had incredible past experiences and you can learn a lot from them. The intern program was incredibly helpful for my professional development and networking skills.

    Cons

    The internship program is unpaid.

    Pros

Working at the Clinton Foundation at their Water Street location was a great experience. Given the organization's history and current work, there is always something exciting going on around the office. Friendly culture in the office, everyone is particularly welcoming of the interns. Many notable brown bag speakers and events for interns throughout the program. Great place to network and/or pursue a career in non-profit.

    Cons

Interns not taken that seriously, particularly at first. Strong program but could use for more structure and purpose.
