Pros
Your fellow co-workers (if you like or tolerate them). We all tend to stay for the sake of keep eachother afloat. After awhile some select co-workers feel like they're part of your extended family.
Cons
You end up staying too long giving your hardwork and dedication to the fractured company who doesn't value dedication and hardwork. You look to management for resolutions to the same continuous issues you cannot take up with corporate. Your store takes losses that are preventable if corporate would provide resolutions to your multiple requests. You're basically drowning while waving your hands above water the whole time. It comes down to how long are you willing to hold your breath waiting for corporate to take corrective actions. Forget being trained or trained properly, forget thinking that leadership will give you opportunities to grow beyond your current capabilities. Corporate and management promote undermining, stifle opportunities to grow even when you'reeagerto learn. They do not empower those who wish to work their way up the ladder with hardwork and dedication. Those who are in the know of the corporate drama of "who slept with who" to get where they are have more potential to be promoted. If you're not in to the drama, then you're not part of the "in" crowd that gets promoted. The corporate echelons ALL have skeletons in their closets.
