Unhealthy work environment - Recruiter Coit Group Employee Review

Pros

- You will make some of the best friends of your life. Although management is completely unsatisfactory, a majority of the more junior recruiters (aka fresh grads) that they hire are hard-working, kind, smart, generous people, and you will grow to love them. Misery does love company, after all. - Although there's no formal training in place, if you're able to get the hang of things and be even somewhat successful at recruiting, you'll put yourself in a good position to be marketable for other recruiting (or similar) positions elsewhere - Some pretty cool perks like free tickets and transportation (party bus!) to BottleRock in Napa, time off in between Xmas and New Years, and happy hours that start at 4:00pm every Friday (some of which are offsite, which can be really fun!) - If you get lucky and are put on a good account, you'll have the chance to make a decent amount of money in commission. Nothing crazy, but a decent amount.

Cons

- I'd like to reiterate, most of the positive reviews on here are fake and/or unreliable. Even the select few people who are able to last at Coit for years as opposed to mere months have very poor things to say about the company, specifically management. - There is a complete lack of respect coming from management. They are publicly demeaning, condescending, and irreverent to employees, and to clients. - No formal training or onboarding process. The only way you'll get any training is from other employees who are kind enough to help you out. Not only that, but management expects you to excel regardless of your lack of training, and gets angry when you don't. - Very low pay. San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but that doesn't stop Coit from low-balling fresh grads and making it so they barely scrape by. - Constant deception from management, starting in the interview. They'll say just about anything to get people they like to join the company, and the dishonesty doesn't stop once you're hired. They'll make a lot of promises to employees that they NEVER keep (i.e. guaranteeing that you'll make X amount of money in your first year, that they're going to start profit sharing, that you get unlimited PTO, etc.). - Which brings me to my next point. PTO is NOT unlimited, even though they tell you it is. They'll complain pretty much any time you ask for time off (be it for a doc appt, a long weekend - anything). - They are not receptive to any kind of feedback from employees. One CEO will at least take the time to listen to what you have to say, but never actually act on it. - They don't tell you this up front, but there's a high chance you will have to work "onsite" at your client's office (as opposed to Coit's), and that could be ANYWHERE in the Bay Area. Several people commute from SF to Redwood City, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, etc. because they're required by management to be onsite every day.

Pros

Leadership trusts their hiring process and allows you to be who they hired you to be. Client Directors are super supportive and are amazing advocates to unearth new opportunities within existing clients and new one.

Cons

The RPO model of hiring medium volume engineering and high level sales teams will be challenging over the immediate term...I made it through several rounds of layoffs and they did their best to keep everyone.
