Pros
There is autonomy in my position, which is something I had yet to experience in my past positions. My supervisor trusts me to complete my work and checks in only to make sure I'm not feeling overwhelmed. My supervisor and co-workers are readily available when I'm feeling overwhelmed or if I need any help. There is a strong community of admins ready to pull you out of the deep end of the pool at a moment's notice, you are definitely not alone here. The brokers I work with expect quick turnover on projects but are flexible and patient when the projects start stacking up. My brokers are good at communicating which projects are priorities and are quick in helping me understand any requests. I have had great work-life balance with this position. The Operating Manager enforces a 40 hour work week so that admins do not feel pressured to work over their 8 hour days. The Operating Manager is good at making sure we take time when illnesses/family emergencies arise. No pressure to work when sick or when going through personal emergencies. I feel that my supervisor and Operating Manager are invested in my progression through offering professional development offsite and helping me plot my professional course within Colliers.
Cons
The pay could be a little more competitive and vacation/sick is accrued slowly.
