Pros

The projects are often very cutting edge and challenging within the electrical engineering realm. The atmosphere is fairly casual and they do try to balance work/life when you need time off (so long as it's not too much time). In some cases, employees are left to do their own thing which can be a pro and a con. The owners are very skilled at salesmanship and making great impressions to get new business.

Cons

Once you're there for a while, you begin to realize that they don't really value or trust employees as much as they lead people to believe. Overloaded schedules are the norm and you should expect to be yanked from projects before you complete your tasks. They say you will be rewarded for putting in the extra hours and effort, but it never materializes. You may initially get a decent raise, but don't expect it to match performance ratings after a while. Young engineers are often left to flounder given projects way beyond their skill level with very little true mentoring. There is also no regular retirement contributions/matching from the company. Their track record for delivering projects on time is also very poor. The salesmanship mentioned in the Pros section brings in business, but it is often based on half truths or sometimes downright untruths. There are also occasional emails sent from the owners that most people find highly unprofessional and borderline offensive.

Pros

Help is just a Principal away, someone is guiding your project. Self starters are needed to lead independent work. Teal Kitchen is the most awesome, and Friday food trucks were the best. Work is challenging and rewarding and frustrating at times as it is with any engineering project.

Cons

Entitled people are blow highs, and make for a long day. Some people would rather stand around and complain than take action and do something.

Pros

CEO treated workers like she wanted to be treated. Best CEO I've worked for honestly. I dream to work under such a strong character as hers again. Nice free kitchen. A lot of college meals but usually sandwich supplies and a swath of drinks.

Cons

CTO was abusive and manipulative to numerous coworkers when I worked there, without any justifiable cause. Exhibited classic narcissism and tried to break many a coworker's mentality, with exaggeration or outright fabrication meeting gaslighting, and on many occasions succeeded in doing so such that they left their career entirely. Toxic work environment from top to bottom, excluding the CEO and CFO who seemed to understand the reality of their situation. They are out of business because the CTO is as arrogant as he was foolish. Expect anyone to try and throw you under the bus to stay out of his inept, misdirected rage. Do not make any verbal agreements with your supervisor, and get every thing in writing. This company's ineffable toxicity from top to bottom was an absolute disaster.
