Pros
I really liked the focus that Commerce has on employee development. They have a very good new hire training process to get their tellers certified, with an option to fast-track. They also strongly encourage ongoing training. I took a supervisor's training class that was very interesting and helpful. I was a float teller in the Wichita area, so I got to spend time in all of the local branches. Most of the branches are well run with friendly staff. They offer health benefits for full time employees. I also appreciated that management made an effort to plan ahead for float teller coverage. I was worried I'd be bounced around from branch to branch a lot, but was only pulled from one assignment to cover at another branch a few times in about 2 years. They promote from within as well.
Cons
Sales goals kept increasing over my time there, with greater consequences for failure to meet them. In a small, local branch, the pool of potential clients is small, and keeping up with the goals was tough. On the plus side, managers offered training and support for people who were struggling to meet goals.
