The big guys make huge money; then you're told they can't afford the cost of living increases. Management makes up tasks that are so ridiculous it could be funny if patients' lives weren't constantly at risk. NO willingness to staff for acuity. Even when we all agreed to help to make it possible. Almost always short of staff. Frequent overtime that you are then yelled at for. So, you work your behind off for 12 hours straight, and because you're trying your best to care for 3-4 of your patients who are very high need, then 2-4 more patients on top of that, you end up being unable to chart till you're off the floor. In the end, it's a 15-hour day if you're lucky, then you get to drive home for 30 minutes and get back up the next day at 5 am to do the very same thing. Over and over.
