Pros

The impact you have on the families and children is amazing. Watching the children grow and expand is the most amazing part of the job! This is a great place to work if you truly want to see the impact you have however not a place to work if you need consistent hours or steady pay.

Cons

There is not enough training to provide the best level of therapy to these children. The high turnover of staff causes great strain on the families and leave the children with gaps in care. Often times we are thrown into situations that we do not necessarily understand or have the tools to deal with. The managers and supervisors are over worked and thus causes an inability to provide the support that each therapist needs. The fluctuation in hours causes many issues. Over summer, many therapists file for unemployment due to the huge cut in hours. The low amount of vacation time is often used up due to unpaid school closures, last minute session cancelations, etc.

Pros

Clients are awesome, and seeing their growth has been amazing

Cons

Pay doesn’t match the work. Need more days off . In this field staff burn out quickly. Staff that has adequate time to care for themselves work even harder for the clients .
