Here is my experience working as night time patient tech: 1. Lack of respect from management, doctors nurses, and other staff members. 2. management unwillingness to hire more nurses and nursing assistants for night shift leading to unsafe patient to nurse and patient tech ratios. Resulting in burnout and high attrition. 3. Management creating a toxic work environment by pitting day shift against night shift which fosters a workplace with the lack of team work, backstabbing, intimidation, humiliation, and retaliation. 4. Everyone for themselves 5. Lack of availability of leaderships willingness to resolve or follow through on concerns. 6. Lack of supplies to adequately provide patient care. 7. Lack of protection against agitated and combative patients and their family members.
